Approved Universities - Singapore

The information on Approved Universities provided on this page assumes that a person was enrolled in an Applicable Law Degree on or after 1 January 2006, or is intending to pursue an Applicable Law Degree but has not started yet.

The information set out in the Institute’s webpages is for reference only, and is not a substitute for the applicable legislation. For Approved Universities in Singapore, please refer to rules 4, 5, 5A and 6 of the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules.

For the National University of Singapore, a person must attain at least lower second class honours for the Bachelor of Laws or at least a Merit for the Doctor of Jurisprudence to be a Qualified Person.

For the Singapore Management University, a person must attain a grade point average of at least 3.00 in the relevant course of study to be a Qualified Person.

For the Singapore University of Social Sciences, a person must attain a grade point average of at least 3.50 in the relevant course of study to be a Qualified Person.

A person who does not meet the above requirements may apply for exemption.
