Approved Universities - Singapore

The information on Approved Universities provided on this page assumes that a person was enrolled in an Applicable Law Degree on or after 1 January 2006, or is intending to pursue an Applicable Law Degree but has not started yet.

Training Employment Pass ("TEP") 

For the National University of Singapore, a person must attain at least lower second class honours for the Bachelor of Laws or at least a Merit for the Doctor of Jurisprudence to be a Qualified Person.

For the Singapore Management University, a person must attain a grade point average of at least 3.00 in the relevant course of study to be a Qualified Person.

For the Singapore University of Social Sciences, a person must attain a grade point average of at least 3.50 in the relevant course of study to be a Qualified Person.

A person who does not meet the above requirements may apply for exemption

A law graduate who is a qualified person and who is not a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore must obtain a TEP from the Ministry of Manpower as required by them and submit a certified copy of the TEP (both sides) to the Institute. The TEP must be valid for the entire duration of both the Part B and the Practice Training Contract.
