Undertaking Remote or Online Learning Arrangements for Overseas Law Degree Programmes (Updated 5 October 2021)

Students who wish to undertake remote or online learning arrangements offered by the Overseas Scheduled Universities after 31 December 2021 must seek an exemption from the Ministry of Law before taking up such arrangements. (Please see Guidance Note Update dated 5 October 2021.)

Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations

Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations is a conversion examination applicable for all graduates from approved foreign universities who intend to apply for admission to the Bar. It is one of the pre-requisites for such persons to attain the status of a qualified person as defined in the Legal Profession Act 1966 read with the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules

With effect from 2016, the Institute will be holding two sessions of the Examinations. The Part A Bar Course is an optional course and there is only one session of the course each year. The course is generally conducted from January to April each year and is open only to applicants of session 1 Examinations.
